Sean Meehan, Group Coordinator
Having grown up in Ontario, I spent many summers camping in the Muskoka region. It was an upbringing that gave me an appreciation for exploration and the outdoors. After finishing my bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on international relations, I made the decision to join the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Programme. Throughout my university career and while preparing for the programme, I worked at a successful real estate franchise where I gained experience as an administrator and in writing contracts. I also played a role in the organization of the Night It Up! Asian night market held annually in Markham. After being accepted by JET, I lived in Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan and taught at 3 different senior high schools. It gave me an opportunity to experience three distinctly different school environments with uniquely different educational goals. Some of my duties included preparing Japanese students for homestays, as well as receiving students and teachers from abroad.
My hobbies include billiards, traveling the world, and hiking.
What I love about MLI: Seeing the students’ excitement first hand really encourages me in my role at MLI.‹ Back
