Naoya Kaneda, High School Program Coordinator

I moved to Canada when I was 14 for high school from Japan. I have personally experienced what it is like to be abroad and away from my family.  I had opportunities to participate in spring/summer camps, summer schools, and ESL schools in various locations in North America. I have spent more than half of my life here slowly moving from St. Catharines to Hamilton for university and graduate school, then to Toronto for work.  I like to keep myself active by playing soccer, running, hiking, backcountry camping, climbing, etc. I also like to travel and spend time with my family.

I have a Master’s degree in Geography and Bachelor’s degrees in Geography and Biology with a minor in Psychology. I have previously worked at a large international engineering company as a GIS Analyst providing support for domestic and international clients.

What you love about MLI!I have just recently joined MLI an have found my team and all the other people in the office are very friendly and helpful. I am glad to have this opportunity and am looking forward to helping students venture out of their comfort zone while they are in Canada and take something back home with them.
