Cheryl Lee, Co-Owner
I enjoy hiking, paddling, swimming, skiing, volunteering in my local community, attending music festivals and events, and hosting friends and family!
I have a degree in Economics with a specialty in Urban studies from UBC. I have worked in the tourism industry since 1985 and have lived and worked in both B.C. and Ontario. I had the pleasure of being part of Expo 86 and the build of the event in the year leading up to it. Since then I have continued to work in tourism in all facets of the industry including operations, sales, marketing and consulting work. I lived in Toronto for 10 years and worked with the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, where I first began to work with Mike Ruby. I then moved back to B.C. and worked as a consultant for a regional tourism association, Thompson River University, as well as consulting work for small tourism businesses in B.C. I joined MLI in 1997 and have never looked back!
I speak French and English.
What I love about MLI: Helping our team to be the best we can be for each client request. Finding new ways to make our programs unique and innovative for each client. Watching students try new things and leave our program feeling they have stretched and grown in unexpected ways. Learning about the wishes of our clients and creating specialized programs that exceed their expectations. Seeing our team of staff build upon their personal strengths and put forward their ideas to improve the way MLI supports its clients and staff. I love seeing MLI grow with purpose and care and attention to all the people involved!
